Rod P and Nu Standard was founded by Rodrick Pleasants in the winter of 2016 with the vision of being a band authentically fluent in multiple genre’s of music. As a drummer who’d toured, recorded albums and performed Indie Rock, Country, Jazz, R&B, Neo Soul, Gospel, and Fusion with multiple bands, Rod P felt it necessary to find musicians who also shared the passion of playing multiple genres of music. Shortly after the launch, the band’s popularity grew along with the demand to perform at, restaurants, museums, lounges, birthday bashes, festivals, political functions, and more.
